Wedge Salad with "Bacon" and Blue Cheese

Wedge Salad with "Bacon" and Blue Cheese

I try not to use a lot of 'Fake meats' but there are some really great bacon alternatives out there that are worth trying if you haven't.  Morning Star makes a great one that I will often use for recipes like this.

Whenever I see a wedge salad on a menu I long for that salty and creamy taste but it's always made with real bacon and completely off limits.  At home it's extremely easy to use alternative bacons to make some old time favorites like the iceberg wedge salad.

You Need:

1 head of iceberg lettuce, rinsed and drained, then cut into 1/4 ers.

6 slices of cooked Morning Star bacon

1/4 Cup Blue Cheese

1/4 Cup Blue Cheese Dressing

Salt and Pepper to taste

You don't really need a recipe for this but if you're never made a wedge salad before, just plate each 1/4 wedge of lettuce on it's own place.  Top with crumbled bacon, blue cheese, then drizzle the dressing on top.  Season with salt and pepper.

Wedge's are meant to be eaten with a knife and fork so dig in.
